Class 4M have been studying Frank Stella during their art lessons.

Frank Stella was born in 1936 in Massachusetts, USA. He is a Minimalist artist; his work focuses on space and shape with has no hidden messages. He uses colour and pattern to create his designs.

The children will continue to study Frank Stella's work and try to create a 'tunnel effect' pattern of their own.

Our Anglo-Saxon topic was started by a visit from Wolf, from the Timezone Team. We handled artefacts and used drama to learn about life in Anglo-Saxon times. It also inspired our recount writing in Literacy; in the form of e-mails and newsletter articles.

We fought the Vikings, armed with shields and spears.

In 4M, we have really enjoyed designing and making healthy sandwiches. We tasted a variety of sandwiches, some of which we didn’t know we liked! We designed them during Good Health Week and thoroughly enjoyed making and eating them!!! We have also learnt one or two tips for making our own sandwiches in the future!!

In Technology, we have designed and made healthy sandwiches.

Spring has sprung in our class planter. We have been keeping a photographic diary.
