"Heads up!"

In the school league competition we found wins difficult to find, drawing 4 of our games, whilst we were knocked out of the cup in the second round.

Our first tournament was the Red Hill 7 a-side competition. We settled quickly and played some great football. We managed to win four, draw one and loose none and after a short delay we found out that we won the tournament. We were crowned Brierley Hill & Dudley 7-a-sides champions!

Our final tournament was the F.A Charter Standard tournament. Winning four, drawing one and losing none playing against schools from all over the Midlands ensured we had a fantastic day.

Altogether the season got better as the season went on our keepers got better, everyone grew into their position and we started to play more as a team.

Another goal for the girls!

Girls 6-a-side Tournament

We started off the season with a tournament at Red Hill, we were very nervous to start with, but as we got into it we were fine. We drew the first one against Bromley Hills and then lost against Peter’s Hill and then we actually won our last one against Northfield Road. In the end it wasn’t enough to get through to the next round, but we had a quick game against Bromley Hills and we won! We just wished we did that in the actual games!

March 2008

Our next football tournament was at the Dell. We were all up for it and couldn’t wait to get into the games. There were loads of teams there, but we didn’t care as we had the courage to beat them. We got all the way into the semi-finals, but lost to Peter’s Hill. We all knew that next time we had a match or a tournament we would beat them!

FA Charter Standard tournament

June 2008, the girls football team and the boys football team went to the FA tournament in West Bromwich. This tournament was a fair play tournament, so it wasn’t just if you won, drew or lost, it was on how fair we played. The girls knew they had to be the best there. We were all excited; we did really well as our goal keeper didn’t really do anything because it never came down our half. In the end we won 5 and drew 2. We won the fair play tournament!!!
