Class 2W Mrs Wilson

Welcome to class 2W. It’s the start of a new year and in maths we have been learning about different 2D shapes. We have talked about triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons and octagons. We made shape men out of 2D shapes.

In science we have been finding out about electricity. We have talked about things that use electricity and how to use electricity safely. We did an investigation to find out how we could make a bulb light up using a battery, two wires and a bulb.

For our history topic this term we have been talking about The Great Fire of London in 1666. In art we drew pictures of The Great Fire of London. We used wax crayons to draw the houses and then we painted the fire. We used red glitter to make the flames sparkle.

The musicians from Dudley Performing Arts came and told us the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. Everyone enjoyed joining in with the actions and the singing.

In literacy we have been learning how to write instructions. We built space dogs. After, we wrote instructions so that other people could follow our instructions and make a space dog of their own.
