Class 3M

Mrs Marsh

A Busy Term

So far, the spring term has been very busy for class 3M. Recently, we enjoyed a very special day with the Time Zone team, who came to teach us about life in Anglo Saxon times. The team set up a mock Anglo Saxon long house in the school hall. There was a metal cauldron for cooking and there were animal skins laid out on the floor to sleep on.

Twisting reeds to make rope.

The team taught us lots of different Anglo Saxon skills. We learned how to grind corn to make flour, using real Anglo Saxon stone querns. We learned how to make rope and candle wicks out of reeds. We were also taught how to weave bracelets. At the end of the day, we were marched out onto the playground like an Anglo Saxon army with shields and spears!
